How we work

It starts with you

Your landscape design starts with discovering your personal tastes, lifestyle and your budget.

We start by scheduling a no cost meeting to look at your site & get a feel for your space. We’ll discuss your likes and dislikes and how you’d like to use the space. You’ll share your design inspirations, what you must have and what needs to go away. Together, we’ll come up some ideas on how your outdoor living area can be enhanced.

At the end of this first meeting, if we both agree that it feels like a good fit, we will give you a price on the scaled design. If you wish to proceed, we will send out an email confirming the design costs for your approval.

It’s all in the details

The next step is detailed site analysis. We will set up a time to come out and measure the site. We’ll assess site conditions such as any grade changes, drainage problems, screening or other items that need to be addressed. We also factor in our Southern Oregon climate and the unique micro-climates in your outdoor space so the plants chosen will flourish.

Our designer will then produce a rough draft of your design that we will present and refine with you.

Making a plan

The design stage includes developing a scaled master plan for your site. This includes the hardscape (paths, patios, decks, arbors, water features, BBQ, fireplace, fire pits, retaining walls, etc.), plant selection with placement, irrigation and outdoor lighting.

From our 40+ years of landscape installation experience, we know not only what plants thrive in the Rogue Valley but what various design elements cost to install. We develop your plan with your budget in mind from the start.

The scaled master plan shows you exactly what you are getting for your installation cost and assures that you getting what you want within your budget.

Putting it all together

You have approved the landscape design, payment has been make and you’ve received your 24″x36″ printed / plotted design. You can install yourself or hire a contractor – the choice is yours.

If you’d like to keep working with us, and we hope you do, Good Earth Landscape can provide an installation cost estimate. If you decide to go ahead, the estimate is presented in the form of a contract, and once approved and signed, the project is scheduled.

Ground gets broken and you begin to see and feel your landscape change. The scaled, approved plan provides clear direction so our crews can place all elements correctly. Throughout the installation, the customer, you, may have daily interaction with the project foreman or owner Vaughn who will let you know what is going on and answer your questions.

Our job is not finished once the installation is completed.

We do a final walk-through to go over the irrigation system and answer customer questions. We also keep a job folder of your installation for later reference if necessary. We will gladly come out to go over winterization, or spring start-up of the irrigation system if help is needed.
