This landscape design project on Foots Creek in Rogue River Oregon has been designed but not yet installed. We’ll share project photos once the installation gets underway.
The master design plan includes layout of all hardscape features (paths, patios, decks, arbors, water features, BBQ, fireplace, fire pits, retaining walls, lighting, etc.), all natural elements — plants, trees, and lawn — and a detailed list of specific plants chosen with both common and Latin names.
Room for a New Car Port
The existing driveway headed straight to the house. To make space for and access to a new 30 by 20 foot pavilion beamed carport area on the side of the house, we move the driveway into the center of the approach. Plenty of parking area included as this customer entertains frequently.
For visual interest we add rock walls and an old hay wagon as a focal point. Down lighting from the existing overhead canopy of the trees adds night-time drama to the entry.
Where’s the Front Door?
Before, it was hard for guests to tell where the front door was. In the redesign, new arbor with an inviting gate and lighting directs people towards the front door. The pleasant splashing sound of a three column basalt rock water feature also helps draw people towards the front door.
Since the front door has a good view of the front yard, the plan calls for a Rotondo paver section large enough for a small table and chairs to enjoy the view.
Backyard Entertainment Area
The backyard design includes a new pavilion. The heavy wood beam covered structure has a large open stamped concrete area. At the back wall, a step down viewing seating area offers a large fireplace structure with seating for four for those cool winter evenings.
Finally, to side of the back yard, an elevated hot tub spa overlooks the patio and the fireplace area.
